Wowza! Another amazing week with Steph at Both Feet's Retreat, Bodlondeb Studio, in Wales. This time I was there to continue my Meisner training after the pandemic delayed my previous courses in Leeds. They say everything happens for a reason and on this occasion that's definitely true, as I'm so glad I couldn't do the Core Course in Leeds and had the opportunity to work here again! The group were incredible and we experience some amazing activities together, including: white water rafting, foraging, cooking on open campfire, star-gazing, wild swimming - and so much more!
I won't list everything I've learnt with Steph as that would take ages and also ruin the beauty of working with her, but my biggest takeaways of the retreat are: - Learning to listen to what my body needs. Not just in acting, but life too. - How the breath really does impact everything in our body! The Autonomic Nervous System is pretty clever! - How to fully commit my body and therefore my mind to whatever I'm doing. Again, just great life advice, but absolutely beneficial to acting! I am already jealous of the next group going this weekend and am stalking Both Feet's website for future retreats or Leeds-based courses so I can work on what I've already learnt!

What a week! I spent 8 days in Both Feet's Welsh retreat on their scene study course and it was above and beyond any training I've had. They combine Meisner acting training with outdoor activities, including camping, wild swimming, archery, axe throwing, hiking and canyoning. We studied Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons by Sam Steiner and performed extracts at an outdoor amphitheatre at the end of the week to put all our new skills to practice. The group were amazing, I've made life long friends and loved it so much, I'm actually booked in for their full Meisner course at the end of September! Here are just some of the photos of our adventure!
After my presenting course with Aspire Presenting in February, I've been working hard creating my own content as well as self taping for upcoming projects. I decided to put this footage to good use and update my presenting showreel and hope to keep filming new clips to keep it fresh and up to date! It's been a busy birthday week as I stayed near Manchester filming another LGBTQ+ short film. I really connected with the script and believe others will too as it discusses the constant stigma and mental barriers faced by the LGBTQ+ community. I can't share much more yet but here's a look at the film posters!
Very excited to announce I've been accepted into Act Up North's weekly acting classes in Leeds! I am so excited to have dedicated training time each week with inspiring people to develop my craft and motivate me in my career. I've worked with lots of talented actors who train with Act Up North and so I'm really excited to see how they can help me progress! Our first class is 29th July so I'm counting down the days...
I am so excited to be a featured presenter on presentertube.com - a high profile platform showcasing presenting talent for all genres of television. Here I am on the category search page!
After a successful meeting with my presenting mentor, Darren from Aspire Presenting, I am busily creating more content to update my showreel and have several self tapes to film before the end of the week. I best get cracking! This weekend I filmed an LGBTQ+ short comedy in Leeds and it's been a blast! Honestly one of the funniest, professional and encouraging sets I've been on thanks to the amazing cast and crew. I can't give too much away just yet but here's a sneak peak of the monitor from possibly my favourite scene to film! A day later, I had an email booking me for another LGBTQ+ short film in Manchester next week, so Zoom rehearsals and line learning are well underway again! Feel very grateful to end Pride Month advocating for representation in the film industry through the projects I'm working on. Today I finally had the chance to practice with my new lapel mic. I wanted to test the audio quality especially with the wind muff. It worked great! I am hoping to film more short clips in different settings so I'm glad I can film outdoors without worrying about external noise. Have a look at the short video I created showing you how to make your rollerskates park ready! It's finally here! The next installment of Gym BS has aired on InView! This episode focuses on vaccines and equality and I have a new behind the scenes vlog to show the creative process: InView are currently doing a special deal where you buy one week pass and get an additional week free of charge! After months of lockdown, wintery weather and skates that are falling apart, the time has come to create a rollerskating showreel! This is a collection of short clips showcasing some of my skills on my quads. I am constantly improving as I practice multiple times a week (now that the weather allows!) and even have a new pair of park skates to hopefully make learning new tricks even easier. I am by no means a professional but after auditioning for a rollerskating part in a short film this week, thought it would be useful to have my mediocre skills caught on camera! So here it is: |
