Lost Mills Learning Pack (2025)

One of fifteen education packs for Bradford schools as part of Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture's Bradford Made project. This involved developing, piloting and editing a resource pack based on 509 Arts established Lost Mills Learning Zone.

Life Class (2025)

An 80 minute music-theatre original production exploring the ageing body. Featuring live music, a 30 member Community Chorus, digital projections, and a professional cast - all aged 60+. More information HERE. 

Created by 509 Arts. Commissioned by Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture. Supported by Arts Council England, Bradford Council, Theatre in the Mill, Bradford Arts Centre and Balbir Singh Dance Company.

We Will Sing (2025)

Ann Hamilton's visual arts installation in Salts Mill. The exhibition included textile artwork, live readings of poetry and prose, letters to the future, vocal recordings, choir performances, communnity workshops, educational tours and live talks. 

Commissioned by Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture. Supported by Arts Council England and Salts Mill.

Unspun Stories (2025)

A multimedia installation celebrating Bradford's textile mills from the 1970s onwards. Featuring original compositions, testimonial recordings, archival footage and projection work. Also available as a digital version HERE. 

A collaboration between The Colour Foundry and 509 Arts. Commissioned by Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture. Supported by Arts Council England, The Space CIC, Yorkshire Film Archive, National Heritage Lottery Fund and Bradford Council.

Lost Mills and Ghost Mansions (2023-2025)

An oral history research project and free online resource exploring Bradford's textile legacy. It included the collection, analysis and curation of 70+ recorded interviews, 6 radio shows, a documentary short, 2 textile commissions, live heritage events including Saltaire Arts Trail, and primary school engagement. 

Created by 509 Arts in collaboration with BCB Radio. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England. This project is now a NLHF case study on their website.
